iStyle's first fundraising event was something of a mixed bag. The idea was to make cake pops -- cute balls of cake covered in a decorated chocolate layer attached to popsicle sticks -- that would be sold to raise funds for the club, but that plan was held back by a few minor disasters along the way.
The baking adventure began with the creation of simple cake bases.
The chocolate outer layer provided a bit of trouble. While melting, the chocolate chips began burning quickly, so little usable coating was left.
Despite attempts to decorate the cake pops without the chocolate layer, the executive decision was made to scrap the naked cake pops for the night and try again another time.
